Miller Park Community Garden

Mayor Albio Sires and the Board of Commissioners would like to announce a significant milestone in our community and thrilled to introduce West New York’s first community garden. The community garden is located at the beautifully renovated Miller Park at 5709-5711 Jackson Street.

The Miller Park Community Garden features:

  • 40 Plots, among these, 4 have been made wheelchair accessible to ensure that everyone can participate in the joys of gardening.
  • A lease for a duration of 12 months, starting August 2023 and continuing through August 2024. Should residents be unable to secure a plot this year, they will  automatically be placed on a waitlist for the upcoming year, 2024. All waitlisted individuals will  receive timely notification regarding plot availability.
  • Free to West New York residents.  $30.00 dollar fee for non-residents.
  • Gardeners need to provide their own tools, seeds, and plants.
  • We are currently collaborating with local environmental groups and Hudson County’s 4-H for gardening educational programs.

We will also accept applications from volunteers who wish to assist but do not want to garden.

No one can start gardening without an application submission, review, and assigned plot.

An application can be filled out by clicking on the link provided or you can obtain one at the Mayor’s Office, we have applications in both English and Spanish. For any inquiries or assistance , please feel free to reach out to the Sustainability Coordinator, Rosemarie Suarez at rosezuares@westnewyorknj.org and  201-295-5119.
