NOTICE OF INTRODUCTION OF ORDINANCE #20/26 ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF WEST NEW YORK, IN THE COUNTY OF HUDSON, NEW JERSEY APPROVING AN APPLICATION PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40A:20-1 ET SEQ. AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A FINANCIAL AGREEMENT WITH FIVE SIXTY URBAN RENEWAL LLC
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the above referenced ordinance, the summary terms of which are included herein, was introduced and passed upon first reading at a regular meeting of the governing body of the Town of West New York, in the County of Hudson, State of New Jersey, on September 2, 2026. It will be further considered for final passage, after public hearing thereon, ata meeting of the governing body to be held via video conference, on September 16, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend the meeting and all persons who may be interested therein will be given an opportunity to be heard concerning the same. Details on how to access and participate in the public hearing through remote technology are listed in the official notice of the hearing and will be posted on the Towns’ website at http://www.westnewyorknj.org/ . Copies of the full ordinance will be available during regular business hours at the office of the Town Clerk for members of the general public who shall request the same.
Summary: The purpose of the ordinance is to grant a long-term tax exemption in accordance with the Long-Term Tax Exemption Law, N.J.S.A. 40A:20-1 et seq., and to permit the Town to enter into a Financial Agreement with Five Sixty Urban Renewal LLC (the “Entity”) pursuant to which the Entity agrees to pay an Annual Service Charge in lieu of taxes. The specific property affected by the ordinance is as follows: Block 118, Lot 3.
